Weaning with plugged ducts

I exclusively pump for my 8 week old but for multiple reasons I'm wanting to wean and give organic/non-gmo formula. That said, I'm having CONSTANT issues with plugged ducts currently. I pump 7 times a day and want to drop a pump a week to wean. Has anyone else ever weaned while having plugged ducts? I absolutely cannot get them to go away. They only get smaller/softer (maybe disappear for a day) then all the sudden within a day or two they are back. I'm looking for others who have weaned in my situation.
