Risks after miscarriage?

Question

If you get pregnant right after a miscarriage (natural miscarriage and waited to have sex until the bleeding stopped) can it cause your body harm and can it result in you never being able to have kids again? What are all the risks and have any of you gotten pregnant right after a miscarriage?

Answer

I've had 5 miscarriages. My OBs recommended waiting until after you have another period to have sex.  Your cervix has to dilate some to accommodate the passing of products of conception and it can be a risk for infection. It's not going to affect your fertility though. 
Miscarriages, while horribly traumatic,are common and your chance of having more than one consecutively is low. 
Just wait until your next period and you can start trying again. My two daughters are. It's rainbow babies and my oldest daughter was conceived two months after a miscarriage. There's always hope!
