We have paid now close to $8,000 for our first born. About 6k for me and 2k for him. Health insurance is a scam. Once I hit my deductible the next large bill miraculously did not go towards my deductible, so I had to pay it in full. Hospitals and doctors charge tens of thousands of dollars so that they get what they want out of insurance. It is ridiculous. 30 years ago families only paid a couple hundred to have children. What the heck happened?
