mucus plug question (no pic)

I just found a jelly like clear discharge on my shorts( wasn't wearing panties tmi) and I'm not sure if that was my mucus plug. Didn't want to post a picture because I always get grossed of seeing other ladies discharges (no offense). It wasn't light brown. Clear white jelly. Definitely not regular discharge where it's white and smears. Anything helps! Oh and I'm 40 weeks 4 days. Haven't lost it yet
