Menstrual cup too big?

I'm 16, I'm a virgin, and have a high cervix. I have a pretty normal period and use regular tampons. Menstrual cups are such a hit I figured I would try them. The first try of trying to fold and insert took about an hour and I ended up taking it out because it hurt, I tried again the next day and it hurt even more. My vagina feels like it has been beat up. Is the diva cup type A (the pre-birth) meant for people who have had intercourse and or have "bigger" vaginas.
