does anybody know how to keep the pad/your underwear in place so your period blood does not leak all over

I would say wear underwear that will cover your whole butt not scrunch or a thong because it doesn't have support. Haynes makes a good pair that are tag-less and won't show underwear lines. also wear a pad with wings : )

I use always pads with wings. I wear those huge granny panties when I'm on my period so it'll have a better chance of staying in place (they have some for $0.88 at Walmart). I'll also wear really thin short shorts under my clothes just in case I feel like there's a chance of leaking or if I'm wearing something light colored.
