Why is 'demisexual' considered its own sexuality?
Hi everyone, I'm just a little confused. I had never heard the term demisexual before downloading this app so I did some research. I found out that someone who is demisexual is not sexually attracted to someone unless they have an emotional connection to them. My question is why is this now considered it's own label/sexuality? I feel like a lot of people whether they're gay, straight, bi, trans, boy or girl don't find people attractive until they get to know them and become emotionally invested, but don't think of it as their sexuality. Can you have more than one sexuality? For example can someone be gay AND demisexual?
Sorry for sounding so ignorant. I'd love someone's perspective who identifies as demisexual.
