These poll options don't work. It is not right that women get paid less for the same work, after controlling for education, time off, qualifications, etc. However, it has nothing to do with the superiority/inferiority of one sex over another.

Yes, men get paid more than women. No, it's not for any of the reasons stated above. Blame our Patriarchal society that still seems to be controlling things. Women are capable of working in any environment men do and vise versa.

The statistic that says men make more then women is actually slightly flawed. In a work environment women and men make the same for the most part. Where you start to see a discrepancy is when you take the average salary over the persons entire career. When you calculate statistic that way you see men making more but it's not because they're paid more but because they take less time off. Women end up takeing time of for maternity leave and when the kids are sick or for school events and men just don't do that in the same amount as women. That time off affects any average taken because no one is paid a complete salary for maternity leave or pto. It's obviously not true that that's the case 100% of the time as some men take more time off and some women don't care to have children but when you look at the average, women just end up taking more time off for the most part.

One sex is not smarter than the other. If a man and woman work the exact same job, they should receive the same pay.

Men do not get paid more than women. That is a myth. Women tend to work in the lower paid industries such as nursing & teaching. Women also tend to take off more time for their families & childbirth. Women also are less likely to ask for a raise. Polls rarely take into consideration such things.

There are a couple reasons why women usually don't get paid as much... 
1. A lot of women tend to chose somewhat lower paying careers.... Not a bad thing just a fact. 
2. Women are usually less likely to step forward and demand a pay raise. 
Obviously this doesn't apply to all women, but there are some studies, polls, etc out there that have shown these reasons among others to be factors in women receiving less pay in general.
