weird periods

Have any of you ever experienced a lite/medium period every 2 weeks? I've heard of women spotting during ovulation, but every 2 weeks I have a period that lasts anywhere from 4-7 days. It's been going on 3 months now. Any ideas on what could be causing this? stress? hormones? Thanks in advance. 😊
