My Top 11 Products for Baby's First 6 weeks
My daughter is going to be 6 weeks old on Thursday and I thought I would share for all the expectant moms the products that I have found to be 100% essential in these first 6 weeks! I know lists like this helped me tremendously when I was pregnant!
Also here's a picture of my Aria (it has a number on it because I'm doing a time lapse sequence for her 1st birthday)

These are on no particular order:
1. The Baby Susher:
A lot of babies respond very well to the sush sound. It calms them right down and it basically a magic noise. However when you spend 60% of your day making that noice you start to lose your mind. Here comes The Baby Susher. Literally just a sound machine that makes sushing noises and is an absolute game changer. It's made car trips, store outings, drs appointments, fussy time, etc much easier to manage.

2. The Soothie Pacifier/ Wubanub
Aria wouldn't take a regular nuk or mam pacifier but she is immediately calmed when we use a soothie- which is the kind attached to the wubanub as well- which I love because when she spits it out we don't lose it down the car seat or to a gross restaurant floor.

3. Boon Grass Drying rack:
I didn't expect to even care that I had this but it's become a staple in my routine. Breast pump parts, bottles, pacis, everything basically needs to be washed multiple times a day and this drying rack is cute, sturdy, functional, and portable. I bring it all over the house so I always have my supplies where I need them.

4. Rock and Play
I know this one basically speaks for itself but this thing is amazing. Aria naps in it most of the time and being able to rock it easily is amazing. I don't even have the auto one and I love it. It's comfy for her, washable when she pukes in it (it happened once), and easy and portable for me!

5. Swaddle Me Love Sack
I'll be the first to admit that I became a swaddle master. Aria was a little Houdini and her father and I had to get her in there tight so her arms wouldn't escape. But after a feeding and diaper changer every 2-3 hours at night doing that master swaddle was tiring and annoying and taking too much time. In comes the Velcro swaddle sleep sack. It's quick, easy, and has a zipper at the bottom so you don't have to un swaddle at night to do a diaper change. And you have the option of arms in or out.

6. Moby Wrap
Easy (once you watch a few YouTube videos), quick, and super comfortable- I can't even imagine not using this. It makes all trips where I don't want to bring a stroller or where she's getting pissed about being in her car seat a breeze. She loves being tight and close to me and generally she goes right to sleep. And it's super easy on my back. I'm including a picture of me using it for reference! I personally have the one made with bamboo as I like the material and how light weight it is way better.

7. Kiinde pumping and feeding system
I'm exclusively pumping for Aria right now and having a system where I can just pump directly into the storage Bag and then feed from that is a game changer. No more transferring milk and dumping it on myself at 4 am. Plus the system grows with baby and you can use it for food later on. It's extremely adaptable as well and comes with any adapter you may need- you don't have to buy it separate. You can even use different brands nipples on the bottles. Love love love it.

8. Halo Bassinest
This was one thing I was on the fence about. It was so expensive and I was worried Aria would end up hating it or growing out of it too fast. But it's amazing. And I got it for half price on Craigslist. It's swivels, fits perfectly next to my bed, is sturdy, breathable (which was super important becuase Aria decided to be a side sleeper for a few weeks 🙄) , and large enough to last Baby a good long time. The side the pushes down is also a game changer for taking the baby out especially in the beginning when your whole body hurts and you don't want to move that much.
10/10 would recommend.

9. Boppy newborn lounger
I have this on my bed next to be for when we're just chilling out together. It's amazing for bottle feeding, relaxing, and having a safe place to lay baby when you don't want them in their bed quite yet or you need to get dressed, or do things around the room (ALWAYS SUPERVISE CHILD IN IT THOUGH. I never leave the room with her on it). I use mine every day, and Aria loves being in it.

10. Boppy pillow
I don't breast feed anymore but when I was breastfeeding it was essential for not having your arms fall off during 40 minute feeding sessions. Now I use it for generally support when I'm holding her or for guests who aren't quite comfortable holding a floppy newborn. It makes everyone more comfortable.
I'm also looking forward to using it for tummy time and sit-up time.

(Tip bring it to the hospital with you and learn to breastfeed with it from the start)
11. Portable Swing
I use the fisher price deluxe take a long
This is amazing. Game changer. Simply the best. I place the swing outside my open bathroom door- turn it on, turn the vibration setting on, turn the music on and she is happy- usually asleep in minutes and I enjoy a nice hot and decently timed shower all while she is in my line of sight and happy. Plus this is portable so I bring it everywhere around the house as well! And it can be locked in place as used as a sleeper.

I'm sure there's more, but this should give you all a good start and I gotta go cause it's time to feed the baby again!
