Winter babies need winter car seat covers ?

I didn't realize that you needed different covers for the different seasons. Since all our babies will be born in the dead of winter, what car seat COVERS are you going to use ? 
To be clear, I know that anything that goes in between the car seat and the baby is unsafe.. I'm looking for covers that go over the top ONLY like this:

I registered for 2.. I'm in Canada, and it will definitely be cold when baby arrives. the first one is by skip hop..it doesn't go under the baby, just simple over top of the car seat. same with the second one, which is a JJ cole one!

I got the Chicco keyfit car seat and it came with a zip-on cover for the bottom part of Baby... I guess a hat, mittens, and blanket (over the top, of course) will have to do for the rest. I'm in Washington too and winter is so unpredictable here!

Which car seat are you getting that the warranty is voided for any over the carrier warmers?

Not me, mines going to be born at the start of our hot Aussie summer 😁 so thankful I'm not going to be pregnant over the hottest months of the year. I just have to make sure I can keep my baby nice and cool in the heat. Am hoping we get to see a white Christmas one year.

we don't use carrier carseat Like this, so it really is a preference not necessity.  my first lo is 8 months and we use the chicco nextfit zip carseat all in one

I hated this type of cover. It would always come down and get in the way of the base, so I would have to take it off, to put the car seat in the car. I plan to Just use a nice thick blanket or get one from carseat canopy.

I also have a stroller winter muff thing which is incredible

I had the jj cole one with my son and it's a life saver. You still need to bundle him with a blanket and such but it helps keep him in a warm cocoon. Recommend the over the top ones only since they are the safest
