I was told I had low iron from the very first appointment I had at the health department when I confirmed my pregnancy, and I had let my doctor know that as soon as I started going to the OB department and assumed that she would monitor to it. Apparently she hasn't and when I had my blood work drawn with the glucose test, it showed I was anemic. So I started taking the iron supplements around 28 weeks and have been getting my blood drawn at my visits to monitor it. I was told today that my iron is still very low. Does anybody know if my low iron affects the baby in any way? Is it dangerous for my baby if I can't keep it up? 😓
