when to pump

I'm 37 weeks pregnant and im reading a good few post about pumping to induce labour ? I want to breastfeed when the baby comes its my first so it's all new to me !! but i was told not to pump milk with a breast pump for the first 6 weeks ? but then I see post of people pumping before birth and some women bring there breast pumps to the hospital ? im sure there's no right or wrong way but still would like some advice?

Everything I've read and heard say not to do that to induce labor.  I would definitely check with your doctor before trying it.  The other thing is, your milk isn't going to be in so you'll just be pumping colostrum, and you don't want to waste a drop of that.

Do not pump before birth. What you produce now is what the baby needs when he/she is born.  You will go into labor when your body is ready.  There is methods to try that would help if your body is ready, but if it's not it really won't benefit you at all.   Eat pineapple, eggplant, and spicy food.  You can drink red raspberry leaf tea. And bounce on a ball or try squats. Good luck! 
I know it's hard waiting but trust me. It will happen when its the right time. I went 4 days passed my due date and nothing helped until my water broke on its own

When your supply comes in fully is when it's best to pump. Which is usually 2 days later.

I definitely would wait until you're full term at 39 weeks before you try to induce yourself.

I tried pumping at like 39 weeks with my son to induce labor and it gave me fairly strong contractions but didn't actually start labor. No matter what you try your body won't go into labor until it's ready. That being said there are better ways to try to get things moving and if your body is ready then it will go into labor. Try nipple stimulation (your hands, SO's hands, etc), sex, going for walks, bumpy car rides (this may just make you need to pee if your body isn't ready to go into labor xD), eating spicy foods. But like I said nothing you do will start labor unless your body is ready to go into labor. Also I've wondered since trying pumping once or twice when I was pregnant with my son if that can cause your milk to come in early. I don't know if it can or not but it's important your baby gets colostrum first so personally I won't be using that method again this time around. Good luck girlie!
