transitioning from co-sleeping to crib?

I said I wasn't going to co-sleep (ever lol) but it was hard for me to always get out the bed to get my daughter when she cried throughout the night so I started putting her in the bed with us. I want to transition her to her crib.. any tips on how I can do this?

Babyproof baby's room and put a mattress on the floor. Leave the room (or stay, if you fall asleep) when the baby is asleep

A slow transition worked best for my daughter. We co slept from the moment she was born. Started off occasionally putting her in her crib during the day whilst awake when I needed to do something (crib is in our room) and then putting her in at night after she had fallen alseep, when she woke up she would sleep with us till the morning, I then gradually let her sleep longer meaning I would allow her to wake up twice and put her back in her crib after setting, the third time she would sleep with us. Then I spent about a week waking up and this time settling her in the crib by offering her the bottle or patting her gently till she fell asleep again. She now sleeps in her crib from 9:30pm to 5:30am stirring once or twice. After 5:30, she sleeps with us till final wake up. This works for us. I think childcare has also helped since she started. I can now put her in her crib semi awake and she will just put herself to sleep. Take ur time momma. Hope this helps.

I tried transitioning from sharing a bed to a crib in the room one day and it was miserable he woke every hour. I gave up but started putting him in there every few hours if I needed to go in the other room or clean up the floor. Then about a month later I started with putting him in there after he had already fallen asleep and he woke up a couple of times. I would let him stay with me until he fell back asleep then I would put him back. After a few days I was able to put him in there when he is sleepy and he will lay himself down and go to sleep. I have a pillow in the crib. Now he can move to his own room. The cry it out did not work for me and I don't care what anyone says.

Are you cosleeping or bed sharing? They're very different things. Cosleeping is sleeping in your room and bed sharing is in your bed.

The routine helped me a lot. I'd rock her to sleep with her bottle, let her fall asleep and place in the crib. Others say they should be awake when you put them in the crib but that just didn't work, I tried. I gave the cry it out method 3 days. If it didn't work by day 4 I stopped. Somehow it's working.
