Looking into Adoption.. need advice

Husband and I have been ttc for 2 years, doctors have been very real in telling me it may take years to concieve on my own due to scarring in uterus from polyps and fibroids and endometriosis. I have always had it in my heart that I wanted to adopt a child, its sooner than I originally planned. my husband is completely I board and we both know we can love a child that is not biologically ours unconditionally, and we can support them financially and with a great home. We have a phenomenal relationship, very open and honest, and trusting. We took my younger sister in and her newborn baby in the day they came back from the hospital, and he's now 1.5 years, we have helped raise that little boy since day 1, late nights so mom can sleep, feeding, diaper changing, etc. So we know we can do it. We have an informational seminar next month, not sure which route to go. there was one where the birth mom picks you, or if we should foster to adopt. I would love to hear from people who have done one or the other. thank you
