Marijuana gateway

I haven't seen this on CC yet, maybe cause I'm not on enough, but I want to know if any of you all see marijuana as a gateway drug. I have never smoked or used marijuana in any way but I know people who have/do but won't take it further or have taken it further. So for me I have never been able to form an opinion on this. Is marijuana a gateway to harder drugs (i.e. Cocaine, meth, etc.)? I'm genuinely curious and would love to use stories to start to form my own opinion.
