Is it wrong to have a racial preference when looking for a partner?

This is a loaded question. 
Is it wrong to straight up only seek out one race? Yes. That's either racism, prejudice, or a fetish
But it's not wrong to be attracted to certain features that mostly present themselves on one race, and it's not wrong to want to have a partner who's from the same culture you're from, or seek out a partner specifically from a different culture. It's also not wrong to avoid dating white people as a POC.

It's wrong to seek out a specific race. That's a fetish. But there is a difference between fetishizing and being attracted to someone. 
Attraction usually presents itself in features. Like having a preference for brown hair over black hair. Or preferring someone who has blue eyes instead of brown. But that only means that you'd like for someone you date to have blue eyes but you'd still be open to dating someone who has brown eyes. 
Fetishizing would present itself as: I only like Asian guys. I only like black guys. I only like white guys and you aren't of that specific race that you like. This is liking someone because of their race. You are bypassing personality and features. You are looking at someone's skin color. If I say I only like and date Asian guys then that's a fetish. 
But it's not wrong to be attracted to someone and like features they have.

I'm attracted to people with blue or green eyes. That's my preference. And yes the majority of people who have blue or green eyes are white but that doesn't mean I haven't dated a black man or a Hispanic man or an Asian man but the identifying features was that every single one had beautiful blue or green eyes. That's not being racist. 
Now if I were to only date white people or only date black people. Simply because of the color of their skin that's prejudice/racist.

Honestly I don't understand preferences.

I don't get straight people. 
I don't get gay people.
I don't get folks with a racial preference.
I don't get the height preference thing.
I don't get the eye color preference.

I understand tendencies just fine, but for the love of all things holy I just can't and don't relate to the preference thing so it does come off as discriminatory to me regardless but it's not like I'm going to say something...

Unless you're fetishizing, or partaking in some hard core exoticism, or using your love of one race to hate on another.

I however really understand being wary to enter a racial/sex based power dynamic into your relationship when it's something you're forced to naviagate in every other facet of your life. In other words I understand POC who don't want to date outside their race and/or specifically don't want to date white people.
