Attachment to baby?

I had my baby girl July 16th, and I know I love her. But I feel like I haven't gotten the chance to be attached to her yet? Is this normal? I keep hearing all these stories about women who felt this insane connection right at birth or in pregnancy, but for me the whole time I was pregnant and now, even looking at my baby in front of me, it hasn't sunk in yet that I actually have a baby. It's like it still doesn't feel real 2 weeks later

There is an episode of Adam Ruins Everything and in this one he ruins babies. This whole getting attached immediately thing is only a recent thing. Many babies before modern medicine didn't live past their first year so many moms wouldn't even name them until after their first birthday. You will bond and get attached it's just been a couple weeks. You also have a huge change in hormones. If it continues and you feel depressed or sad all the time that's when you should talk to your doctor about ppd. But as of now everything is totally normal. Dont let other people make you feel bad.  You are still adjusting to a huge life change.

Could be postpartum. Definitely tell your dr how you feel, it could get worse. 
Most women do that, i did and i had to get medicine for it. I knew i loved my baby but my body just didn't.

it's totally normal. you don't fall in love with another person instantly upon seeing them. you've got to build the relationship first.

You may feel better and more attached once she's smiling and laughing. But you should talk to your doctor in case it's postpartum depression
