Can I color my hair while pregnant?

Im 6 weeks pregnant and was wondering if I can color my roots?

Yes coloring your hair is okay. It's better to dye your hair in a well ventilated place however just to prevent inhaling fumes from the dye.

I waited til the second trimester, had to wear a hair band eventually to cover the roots. Also use dye with no ammonia

As a cosmetologist, my opinion is no as the chemicals can pretty easily leech into your blood. But a lot of other people say that it's fine. If you do dye your hair, please get it done in a salon. Those ladies have the safest products and will have a good idea of what's in them. 
On the other hand, I've also seen a lot of pregnant women's hair not take dye because of their hormones.
