Have you ever been in a car accident?

Car accidents are one of the highest causes of death in the US and so scary just to think it could happen at any moment of the time. I wanted to see how common car accidents are since I'm gonna be getting my drivers license pretty soon and it's getting me a little nervous. Drive safe you guys!! 🚗

I've technically been in three. Once when I was an infant (a driver went on the wrong side of the highway, drove a bunch of cars including theirs off of the road), second when I was a toddler, and the last was when I was in my last year of Junior high school (a drunk driver ran his stop sign, we t-boned his car, it was 7 in the morning). None where my parents' or my fault. The last one was (obviously) most traumatizing for me.

It was a really long time ago (me and my brother were kids) but us along with my mom and grandmother had gotten into an accident on the highway. No one was majorly hurt, THANK GOD, but we did all go to a chiropractor a few times a week for like six months... 
I was so young (7 or 8 I think) so I didn't fully understand why I got to go get massages often but they felt really nice and relaxing... I miss those massages...

Statistically speaking, lethal car accidents aren't THAT common. In 2015, 610,000 people died of heart disease (number 1 killer). In that same year, 589,430 Americans died from cancer. The number 3 killer, chronic lower respiratory disease, caused 147,101 deaths in 2014. The number 4 killer is accidents, but not specifically car accidents. In 2015, there were 35,092 fatalities as the result of car crashes. That's way less than the top 3. On average, there are 6 million reported car crashes per year in the US. The likelihood of you being involved in a fatal crash is pretty damn low.
