Curly hair?

I donated 12 inches of my hair 2 days ago. Before I cut my hair it had very nice natural beach waves that would form by themselves. Now that I've cut my hair I've noticed that those waves haven't formed at all, which I'm very sad about because that was my favorite thing. I thought that curlyish hair is supposed to get curlier when it is short. Any ideas??

How  old are u ?    If  youre passed puberty, maybe  your hair is starting to straighten out..... or maybe  it needs some layering  to revive them?

Based on my experience, that's true of curly hair but not wavy hair. My friends with tight curls definitely get that effect, but I'm like you where I have natural waves, & when I cut my hair into a bob style I seem to have stick-straight hair.

There are different levels and types of curly hair. Wavy hair is different than kinky curly hair, not sure what wavy hair does when cut short. Your hair type can change as you age and horomones change though.
Google naturally curly and check out their website and curl care guide. I think they have wavy listed in addition to the more curly types.

Having it so long for so long has sort of weighed your hair down and your roots have grown out straighter or flatter.

Im a mix of 3b & 3c. Beach waves are more like 2a & the first 2b. And if you dont really have curly/coily hair genes.. you arent just gonna produce them lol.
