Alcoholic SO

Does anyone else have an alcoholic boyfriend/girlfriend? Or have had? To the point it's really affecting your relationship? I'm looking for people to tell me their experiences. This is the hardest thing I've had to deal with in a relationship and I don't want to call it quits yet but I really think I have to. I don't see it fair to have to ask him to quit drinking because I know he won't and that's like "his favorite hobby". He's, quite simply put, a drunk.
