positive pregnancy test

hey girls

so 8 days before my period was due, I had weird brown discharge for 2 days. were ttc #1 for almost 2 years now. I never had this discharge before. I am now 5 days passed my period date, which I'm never late. I took a test tonight and it was negative. how long did it take for you to get a BFP?? I could use some major baby dust!!
