Mucus plug?

Question

I am 35 weeks today & was having a little bit of rough sex and after while I was sitting naked there was a light pink, small amount of something and when I peed after it was also there. I realize this could be many things but I just want an idea before to know if I should go to the hospital or not?

I'm not a doctor, but I experienced this during the end of my pregnancy. My OB told me that the blood vessels are more swollen I guess and there's more blood flow in that area? so when you have sex or get a vaginal exam,  sometimes it can cause light spotting or bleeding. However, if at any time in your pregnancy (or the last few weeks in your case), you feel nervous or uncomfortable about something going in with your body, you can contact your doctor. They are used to getting these kind of questions. I don't think it's anything to worry about, but if it eases your mind then call the dr. Never be afraid to ask them questions :)

It doesn't sound like a huge concern. Most of my clients don't just have a little plug. Its usually a lot of mucas. However if you get any other symptoms you should head to the hospital. They can do a cerclage and give your steroids to slow or stop things. 
Even if you were to deliver today, your baby's survival rate is very high.  At 27 weeks the rate is 70%. Your kid has 2 months on that. The main potential issue would be breathing. But the seriousness is basically just sticking the baby on oxygen for a short time. Essentially one of the only long term risks is asthma. A long nicu stay would be very unlikely. Baby would only be a month the early. The longer baby can be in there the better. But its okay. You are well along safety wise. I have attended a lot of 35 week unexpected deliveries and the baby doesn't even need oxygen.

Answer

If you're just seeing a little bit of pink not heavy bleeding there's no need to rush to the hospital at this point in pregnancy. You can lose your mucous plug weeks before delivery, and bleeding doesn't necessarily indicate you've lost your plug.
