Yes, absolutely. There's a negative correlation between religion and intelligence. Of course, correlation doesn't mean causation. So just because there are more people with higher IQs who aren't religious doesn't mean they aren't religious because of their intelligence

I don't really think there is. I have an IQ of 130, and I carry a 4.0 GPA, and I am Christian. My belief has nothing to do with my intelligence. I study and read about things I want to know more about.

Doesn't matter what I or anyone else "believes" on this, there has been, on multiple occasions, a negative correlation demonstrated between IQ and a belief in a diety.

I've read that yes, there's a correlation. Now, that doesn't mean that if you believe in god, you're stupid or have a low IQ.

I don't think so. I've heard/read of many very wise/smart people e.g. Scientists, professors, who are religious and/or accept that there is a creator.

Depends. There is a connection, but it would depend on how religious they are and what type of intelligence you’re measuring. But general findings are that the more religious the less intelligent. Again, there are other factors.

Posting because I recently saw a family member of mine (who's the most atheist person I know) share a link to a study that claimed there is a correlation between people of lower intelligence having higher belief in god or religion and proceeded to get into a disagreement with several other people who thought it was BS.
