Blow jobs

So I recently started giving blow jobs to my boyfriend. I've never done it before besides on him. I read online that you aren't supposed to brush your teeth after you give one because that puts you at a greater risk for STDs and other bad things due to his manly fluids still lingering in my mouth. I was just curious as to what everyone else knows about this or if anyone has any advice?
