Pink period? Heavy?

so i started my period today, my cramps have been worse than usual (not unbearable). i went to change my tampon cause i was leaking, and i had white/light pink discharge mixed with my blood? wassup w dat? what're the possibilities of what it could be? anybody else have this happen?
