Severe Pain in right side???

Question

Last night I was awakened by this extreme and excruciating pain in my right side where I guess the round ligament is. I could barely breathe it was so intense. Lasted for about two or three minutes. Now today I've had my stomach tightened every 7-10 minutes and it's painless. Anyone dealt with this?

I had sharp pains in both the left and right side of the lower abdomen at around 38 Weeks and 1 day. My Obstetrician said it was muscular due to bubs' head lowering into my pelvis. 
Had another appointment today and was told bubs has 'dropped' and thankfully I'm not experiencing anymore sharp pains. Perhaps this might help explain what you're experiencing?
