Sciatica anyone?

I'm 11 weeks today and my bum area and down my right leg kills every time I try to stand up. I read its sciatica. Does anyone else have this or know more?

Hey ladies! I'm a physical therapist--it's very common in pregnancy as your ligaments start to loosen up and pelvic starts to shift a little. If you'll look up a "piriformis stretch" it will help tremendously! The sciatic nerve runs down the middle of the piriformis muscle and stretching it can help relax the nerve some. Hope that helps!

look up the yoga stretch called pigeon pose. my Dr suggested it with my last baby and it really helped. already using it a lot with this baby.

I have been suffering too! Do the stretches where really good shoes! Don't lay down on that side and don't sit or stand for long periods of time! I went threw this with my daughter and now this baby. My doctor said it's prob also shooing due to the fact I have a tilted uterus. I was cleaning house just now and it started to really hurt. I'm laying on my left side in bed and doing my stretches. This sucks I know!!!

I've had sciatica pain before so I'm not sure if it's pregnancy related but I am in the same boat. Sometimes I can't put weight on my left leg it hurts so bad. I've been doing butt and hip stretches and that seems to be helping. Good luck!

Omg! Mine just started Monday night but it's the back of my left thigh down to my knee. Started in my lower back and shot down, omg it's awful. I'm in so much pain, Doc told me to take Tylenol and try ice or. Heating pad. The heating pad is working to alleviate some of the pain. I hope this goes away fast!

I have sciatica. I have with now all 3 babies. It is awful. Heating pad helps a lot!!

hey. i had this problem also and it lasted about 1 week. It started to feel better and then I also went for a massage which was really helpful too!

I've had sciatica since 18 years old why? I don't know but after I've found ways to cope with it it went away till now and especially more with at work, I work full time & for the entire shift I'm up and moving the only time I get to sit down is during lunch so towards the end of my shift like 3 hours before is when I start feeling the pain shooting through my right leg..

I've been having the same problem!! Standing up, rolling over in bed, and even sometimes walking hurts so bad I scream in pain. This just started a few days ago! Hoping it won't last long.
