Okay I have a bestfriend but it seems like they only hang out with me when I have money or am going out to eat or shopping.

Just see how they react, and if they don't respect what you have to say, then you don't need to be friends.

Tell them you didnt bring any today and return the favor. My friends covered for me and I would do it back for them, either getting groceries or when we went to dine out. Even strangers have covered me, so I pay it forward when I can
