Need help! prison related

My 17 y/o brother was in prison for 2 days for going into private property, the owners pressed charges on him and he has to be reporting himself every Monday since he was released. We have to go to Mexico this weekend for a couple of hours and i was wondering if he has to call to report that hes going? i know you have to when you're on probation but since hes reporting himself on Mondays im just worried if he doesnt report it he can get in trouble when we cross back to the US
