Birthing story
Long story alert!
On April 8th I gave birth to the most precious boy! However, the days leading up to having him were difficult. I attended my 36 week check up and was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. I was later sent home to be put on bed rest and to do a 24 hour urine study. Two days later, I received a call that I needed to get to the hospital that night to be induced. My protein level was through the roof. So my husband and I got what we had packed up and ready to
Go (didn't have my baby shower yet so was not really prepared). We get to the hospital and they start to induce me with cytotec. The next day, they removed the cytotec and checked me. I had not dilated. So they gave me another cytotec. The next day they removed it and I had a reaction to the medicine that cause me to swell and become raw. The nurses could not even check me without me crying. After trying to check me, I still had not dilated. They decided they were gonna to give me pitocin and use balloon dilation. By then I requested an epidural because the pain of checking was unbearable. Which I'm glad I did because my platelet count was very low and if it got any lower I would not have been able to get an epidural. While waiting on the balloon to dilate me, my sons heart rate kept dropping. They checked me again and I had only dilated to a one. At that moment the doctor decided right then that I had to go in for an emergency c-section. At 7:48pm, my sweet son was born. I believe that was the most worried I had ever been to not know if he was going to be ok. He is truly a miracle and I would go through it all over again. We are now four months old and doing awesome!
