How to make friends ?

So I'm gonna be a freshman this year in hs. But I'm very shy & not much of a talker lol, so anyways all of my friends that I had in 8th are going to different schools, and I just found out my bestfriend isn't going to the same school as me. How can I make friends and not be so shy about it? Thanks💕

The BEST place to make friends is the classroom. That way you're in an area that is supervised by a teacher, so people feel obligated to at least try to be kind. Also, try to join a club. I'm not sure if your school has this, but my school has something called Hope Squad, which is a group of students that are kind of just in charge of reporting bullying and being there to help new students and any student that needs help. I'm on it, and those people are some of the best people I've ever met. Find a club that you're interested in, and strike up a conversation. Normally, it works pretty well! And if you're an introvert like me, find an extrovert that will adopt you 😂

Just be yourself and get involved with your school like join a club or a sport. I'm going to be a sophomore this year and I remember how nervous and scared I was on my first day of high school it's really not that bad . Like at my school I had joined Student Council if your school has that you should really join that it's really fun and you get to meet a lot of different people. If your shy or not much of a talker maybe you can try sitting next to someone that looks nice and start off with saying " Hi or Hey" or sometimes even a friendly smile would work.
