How do you breastfeed?

I have been exclusively pumping b/c baby wasn't latching very good but now he is so how would I breastfeed with both breasts? He drinks 4 oz every 3 hrs so do I breastfeed with one breast for 10-15 minutes then switch & breastfeed for 10-15 more? Spoke to a LC.. No help!!

You latch baby whenever baby is hungry and allow her to feed until she unlatches herself, then offer the other breast which she may or may not take. Feed on demand, don't watch the clock... so when baby roots put baby to breast and even if you just fed baby but they're rooting put baby to breast. My philosophy when my baby was young was when in doubt take it out lol as in it she was fussy for any reason... (had a dry diaper) I'd put her on the breast and 99% it worked!

I've always just let my daughter feed from one boob and then feed her with the other the next time she's hungry. I find it's easier than disrupting her and switching boobs when shes got a good flow going.

I normally allow my little one to eat from one breast until she's done then offer the other. Normally she doesn't take it but sometimes she will. While I'm at work she eats 3.5 oz bottles every 3 hours but a baby can drain your breast better then a pump so your child may only need to eat from one at a time.
