opinion on the depo shot?

for anyone taking the depo provera shot, what's your opinion on it??

I loved it at first because it totally got rid of my periods ! Buttttt lost my sex drive :/ && made me very irritable  . My fiancé wanted me to stop taking it so I did .

I've been on it 2 years and I love it. I don't get my periods at all. I doint gain any weight. I don't have mood swings. I don't break out. My sex drive went down but I still get turned on by my bf. It's always been my go to birth control since I was 18.

don't do it! u will love it at 1st, but then you will gain weight lose ur sex drive, and may have trouble getting pregnant when you want. I know because I was only on it for a year, gained 75lbs been ttc for 3 years now...nothing. and I used to want to have sex just about everyday. now I'm never in the mood, it sucks. just trust me don't do it!

I've only been on it for 2 months but I think it's awesome. I had extremely irregular periods before the shot but I've had my period twice since getting the shot, on the same week each month. I don't cramp or have PMS, but occasionally I randomly get extremely emotional and the smallest things make me cry. it has increased my appetite and sex drive, just the thought of my boyfriend makes me horny now. I personally think I will be on this shot for a while. it makes me feel very secure. my doctor told me that it has one of the lowest accidental pregnancy rates that she's seen in her career. my doctor said that she's even on the shot herself. I know that most people hate the shot, but I'd recommend to anyone looking for a safe, easy and long term birth control option.
