Mucous plug??

Question

Should I call my doctor or the nurse line if I lose my mucous plug at 33 weeks? I don't know if it's still too early to lose it right now or not. I'm 33+4

was there any blood in it? it's completely normal to lose pieces of your mucus plug during your pregnancy because it regenerates. if you had bloody show, let your doctor know but it doesn't necessarily mean you're about to go into labor. it does, however, mean that you can no longer go in the pool or take that because that barrier of protection is gone. the bloody show part is due to the fact that your cervix is loosening up a bit and when your plug slides out, it breaks some tiny capillaries that are formed so your doctor may just want to check you out to see if your dilating (don't freak. You can be dilated at like 1 or 2 cm for weeks on end)
