IUD experiences?

I've been on the pill since I was 17. After getting married my husband and I have now gotten pregnant twice while on the pill. First was Yaz, second was a different brand. I always took it same time every day and didn't skip. After this child is born next week we are looking at another method 😂. Can anyone tell me personal good or bad experiences with IUDs?

So I had an experience very different from Autumn's. I've had my IUD for 2 years and it was hands down the best decision I ever made. My periods have become much lighter and shorter, and I have very few PMS symptoms (which my boyfriend is very thankful for lol). Plus it allows us to be spontaneous without worrying about if I took my pill or we have a condom. I had previously tried the pill and the ring, and neither worked very well for me. Talk with your doctor and see what they recommend.

Love the iud. Stopped getting my period and low maintenance. Don't have to worry about it for years. Easy to insert
Downsides you may bleed for weeks when you first get it in. That's normal. And you are more likely to get bacterial vagionis so you need to watch for infections
Overall I would never change bc methods

I've never had any children so my doctor recommended I get the skyla iud because it's smaller. Within a month I began developing ovarian cysts! I was constantly uncomfortable and I had two burst which was excruciating pain. I did lose a lot of weight while I had it but I naturally have a pretty small frame so it made me look way too skinny. I was going to get it taken out after 4 months but my doctor urged me to give it more time so I did. Finally after 10 months of constantly feeling crampy and my periods never being predictable I went to my pcp and she took it out for me. I immediately felt relief! My friend got one at the end of April because she was having issues with the pill and she's already scheduled to have it taken out. She's also developed three ovarian cysts so far. Everyone's body is different though, I know a few people that had iud's for years and loved them. So even though my experience was bad it could work great for you!

I had two Mirena IUDs, one for 5 years, the other for 3 years (removed to have a baby) and I'm getting a third. Other than months of spotting after I initially got one placed it's been the best. And no periods for 8 years! 🙌🏼 I got pregnant quickly when I wanted to & my periods were totally normal afterwards.

I totally wanted an IUD...but after having my 2nd child my thyroid and hormones are a freaking mess.  I had mirena for like 2 months and had to have it removed 🙁😞 I can't do anything with hormones now.

Also had a very horrible experience with IUD.i did have the Mirena. I spotted/bled every single day for the whole year straight I had it in. Not one day went by that I didn't have to wear a panty liner or pad. I also developed severe depression. My mood swings were like no other thing I've ever seen. I turned into a monster. I finally had a enough and after having it for a little over a year, I was tired of it and got it removed. Had relief almost immediately. However, I do know people who have an IUD and love it.
