In Denial Birth Story π π© (kinda long)
Okay so I'm going to list the order of events instead of putting it into a story. Sunday August 6th, 2017.
4:00 am - start having a dream about being in labor and then mild cramping starts to wake me up on and off out of my sleep
7:30 am - my husband wakes up and suggests we go to the hospital and I say no because I'm in denial lol
8:30 am - they start to get more intense so I tell him to wake his mom and call L&D;, meanwhile I still don't believe I'm in active labor although pains are coming 5 mins apart. L&D; says to come in at 9:30 if they are still 5 mins apart.
9:30 am - we go to L&D; and they put me on the monitors, confirm I'm dilated to a 4.8, and my contractions are 5 minutes apart. They send me to walk around the hospital for 2 hours. (It's 10:17)
IT STILL HAS NOT HIT ME IM IN LABOR ππ
12:17 pm - I go back to get checked and I'm at a 6 so they admit me into the hospital. Once I'm admitted my contractions disappear lol so they send me to walk the floor some more
Around 3ish - they ask to break my water, I say sure lol this is where the contractions pick back up and get REALLY INTENSE. When my water breaks we discover my daughter pooped while in the womb.
I get through the contractions naturally until 6:45 pm then I ask for IV meds (which didn't help at all) then I ask for an epidural.
7:45- midwife asks to check me before they give me an epidural and she says "you are dilated to a 10 honey so you might as well get ready to push" so I say okay, midwife LEAVES and the nurse helps me start to push. My daughter head pops out and the nurse calls the midwife and no one comes so I'm like SHE HAS TO COME OUT NOW!! And lo and behold my daughter was born at 8:05 pm -delivered by me and the nurse ππ
