My daughter is 10.5 months old. The day before we were released to go home after I had her I chose to get the depo shot. I had this shot previously and knew of side effects etc. I had always loved the depo. Well, fast forward to my 6 week check up. I had decided to go with the Mirena because I could "decide to get pregnant when I want" by removing it. Didn't do much research, looked to my OB to give me some details, he just went over major side effects and scheduled a time to get it placed. Once placed, I had nothing but issues. Mood swings, weight gain, hair loss, constantly irritable (my poor hubby) acne, cramps, random bleeding, my sex drive was nonexistent. So after 5 months of having it in, I went ahead and removed it myself (go ahead and judge me. I wanted it OUT and we had just moved so I didn't have a new OB or insurance yet). Well we have been "trying" since May and I know it isn't a long time but from someone who decided a month before we got pregnant to have my daughter it is killing me. Every time I am close to my period I keep getting pregnancy symptoms. Just took a test and it was negative. Had to play it cool in front of hubby but I am so sad. I would love to have all my babies closer together in age. Ugh. Sorry for the long rant. Please share with me your Depo and Mirena pregnancy stories!! How long did it take for you to get pregnant after removal/ stopping the shot? Give me some hope ladies!! ❤️❤️
