late flow

im about 5 days late now but im unsure to test beacuse last time i went to the doctor she said i wasnt having a period because im to heavy but i have always had a period and continued to have one after the appointment. however the friday before easter i had 4 faint line test. when i went to the doctor after that she said shed say it was a miscarriage. so would that have to do with my irregular period month? is being to heavy a thing? im about 5ft and 190lb
