Group B Streptococcus?!?!

Question

So I just was told that I tested positive for Group B Streptococcus. My doctor wants to put me on antibiotics. She said they were fine to take. I've never heard of this and of course googled it and it can cause serious problems. I'm freaking out. Has anyone gone through this or know someone who has and what was the results?

I tested positive with my 2nd child and was given antibiotics during labor,  they were only able to get one bag in though before ahe came. She was born healthy, no complications for either of us.

I tested positive for it, I had no idea & still don't have an idea of what tf it is. but my Dr put me on antibiotics too during labor & my daughter and I were juss fine.

The chances of having those serious things happen are very low. Please do not let it stress you out. Your doc will do the antibiotics and it will be fine. THAT SAID..... you should also get a probiotic into your diet immediately! Antibiotics can flush all the good bacteria out of your body along with the bad bacteria and probiotics will help to replenish the good bacteria. Babies NEED probiotics. It's actually been shown that a mom who takes probiotics or has a good amount of healthy bacteria is more likely to have a baby without skin issues like eczema as well as many other benefits so you want to make sure you do something to replenish the store of good bacteria in your body.

So the doc is putting me on antibiotics now at 10 weeks and then I'm assuming at delivery. I thought I had a UTI but they said no but I'm having this feeling of consistently having to pee it doesn't burn it's just a pressure feeling. Doesn't matter if I sit down or standing. Could that be the strep b or maybe the baby? I'm not feeling great.

I tested positive. It worries me too, i know 2 people who lost their babies after delivery to strep B.

Tested positive my first pregnancy, was put on antibiotics during labor and delivered a healthy baby. Don't read too much online, the risk of something happening is low.

I tested positive my last pregnancy. It's nothing to worry about. Once your water breaks you go straight to the hospital to get hooked up to antibiotics. I got two bags since I delivered less than 12 hours after my water broke. My baby was perfectly healthy.
