Baby talking ?!?!

Hey August 2016 mamas are any of your little ones talking yet my baby just turned a year old and isn't saying much of anything yet ? Should I be concerned I'm a first time mommy so I'm really worried

My daughter turned one on Aug 4 and has been saying words since about 9 months (mama, bow wow, bobble (bottle) and dada) Now at a year she's up to somewhere close to 30 words and can point to body parts etc. BUT it took her a long time to figure out crawling and she really has no interest in practising walking. Every baby will chose one or two skills to practice consistently. Mine happens to love communication. Some babies focus on movement or fine motor or gross motor skill development, etc etc. By 18 months I think they should be able to say two words but my gf who is a special ed teacher has a little guy who is about to turn 2 who still only points and grunts at things but he was an early walker and loves rough housing etc. She was told that if by 24 months he's still not talking then to seek outside help but not to worry until then. If you want to help build vocabulary with your baby you can do lots of reading and picture talks pointing out what things you see on the page and make sounds, while going about your day explaining what you're doing, point things out when you go shopping for items or groceries or talk as you drive the car pointing out what you see etc. Most importantly do not even compare your baby to someone else's!! Every child develops at their own speed. Don't worry!!

my son only says hi and he is soon to be 13 months old

Mine mostly babbles. He can hold his finger up for 1, point to his nose, says no, baba, mama, dada (although the past 3 have no meaning to him I don't think) He says stinky when he pooped and when the hot dog song comes on mickey mouse clubhouse he tries to say hot dog.

Lol! My LO turned one August 10th and only has three words in his vocabulary- hi, bye-bye and no. Still not saying Mama! 😒. We're a bilingual household so I'm not that worried. (Yet!)

Mine will say Momma, dada and up with tons of babbling. I talk back when she babbles and it seems to make her chat more. She said baba a few times but then stopped.

Mine says mama dada doggie evee ( one of our dogs names) hey dada and hi... my husband didn't talk until he was 2 though so it really just depends!

Mine bables and bables but says nothing 😂 she understands some words in all 3 languages that we speak but doesn't feel like repeating them, instead she just keeps with her bababa and cacaca, sometimes gagagaga lol

My little says: mama, dada, nana, woof, wow and plane. He also babbles a lot.

It's fine if they don't have any words at 1 but if they aren't babbling and making consonant sounds then it's a good idea to have a check up
