Cutting my hair

My hair is all one length pretty much. I want to get layers and long bangs like this. But what if the guy I'm dating doesn't like my hair cut and leaves me? We've been dating for 6 months. I'm nervous because I love my long hair. But I never do Anything to it. And I think it'll help make everyday look a little better
