Pap smear?

What age are you suppose to go and get a Pap smear. I've wrote a post similar to this before but got all different answers. I'm 16 and I'm sexually active (if that matters) and I've never been educated on Pap smears, what they're for, how they're done etc and would just like some information from anyone who knows.

21 or once you become sexually active.

I'm not sexually active at 18. I just had one done a week ago and they told me I had strep in the vagina. Had no idea that was a thing! It's a good thing to do and go get checked out and I would say it's especially good to do when you're sexually active.

its a good idea to do it. i had one 3 years ago that came back abnormal... actually all mine have been abnormal and i now find out tomorrow if i will require surgery. pap tests check to make sure ur cervical cells are normal

If you are sexually active, you should get a Pap smear. Usually they only do it every couple of years, but my doctor said she does it more of a patient is sexually active.

In Canada you start getting Pap smears at 21 or after you've been sexually active for 3  years which ever comes first.

You dont have to get it till around 22 where i live but it's nice to get one done to make sure everything is 👌🏻
