Last Name?

Where me and my fiancé aren't married yet, what name will the doctor's put on the birth certificate? We want him to have my fiancé' last name, but I've heard from other people that if we're not married he'll get my name instead.

It's your decision! When you first give birth they'll refer to it as baby boy/girl (your last name), but that's just for identification purposes. My sister and I were both unmarried when we had our kids and we both gave our kids the dads last name :)

They get whatever name you put on his name paperwork... Because your not married the mother legally can name baby whichever name

So the certificate will be what you choose but baby until named will be know by your last name. At least in the USA

It's your choice you can put your or your fiancé's. I think while baby is in the hospital it'll be labeled on the hospital band your name since your the patient. But for birth certificate you can put your fiancé's.
