Some please help

I'm scared.. My partner found a mole on his penis. Could that mean anything or just a regular mole growing?. He just told me about it today and he scared not only himself but me too. Tomorrow I will set an appt to get checked as well . Why would he wait almost 2 months to tell me this?.
