Sweep done with nothing going on???

Question

Has anyone has a sweep done that wasn't dilated? I have an appointment in the morning and want to know if I should try and have it done. I'm completely soft but haven't dilated.

They will only do it if you are at least a figure top dilated they have to be able to get in there to get to the membrains. I'm 39w1d and had mine done today but I'm at 2cm very soft cervix and baby is 75%affaced so we should have baby this week

Unfortunately if your not dialated at all they can't do a membrane sweep on you. Because they have to be able to get into your cervix in order to strip it. 😞 with my first I was never able to get mine done because I never dialated until I went into labor.

Well boo you would think my body would know what to do but I guess 8 and half years between babies it forgot.. I can only hope for some change in between appointments.
