Curious to see how many were born yesterday?

I had my reg 38 week OB app on 8/15 my dr checked my cervix and said that I was 4.5 - 5 cm dilated, but only 50% effaced with a very posterior cervix. My baby was very low though. I left feeling disappointed. I've been in prodromal labor for like 2 weeks, and I was over it. A few hours after my app I started spotting which I knew was normal but then I had the worst cramp like pain, it started probably around 3pm. It felt like period cramps except it was my whole stomach. It hurt pretty bad. I was very grumpy and miserable. I went to bed around 10 and could not sleep I tossed and turned all night getting up every couple hours to pee. Finally at 3am my husband suggested that i go to L&D; just to be safe. I got up and showered, and walked around. I started to time my contractions and they were consistent anywhere from 2-4 mins apart, lasting about a minute long, and they were not going away. The pain was very cramp like accompanied but tightening of my stomach. I called L&D; around 5 and get there around 6. I was 5.5cm dilated. With consistent contractions. Once I got to 6-7 cm dilated they broke my water. And boy did the contractions come on strong. I felt like I was being stabbed in my whole stomach, my hips, groin, and upper thighs every time I had a contraction. I decided to get the epidural, and it failed. Didn't even work at all which is weird because I've had two successful epidurals before. The pain was so bad I began to get cold chills and vomiting. My contractions were not stopping coming every two mins lasting a minute long. The peak of the contractions was the worst. The nurses checked me and I was at a 10. I pushed for 10 mins through 3 sets of contractions trying to push through the pain. It was so awful, the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. At one point I literally said idk if I can do it. I was so exhausted, and the pain was so bad o could have screamed and cried. I pushed through it and At 12:48pm baby Sophia Gray entered this word. At 38.5 gestational age. She weighed 7lbs 15.3 oz and 20.5 in long. She's so sweet and totally worth all of it. After the worst pregnancy and labor I've ever had I'm happy that our little girl is here and finally feel like my family is complete. πŸ’—
