Third trimester ultrasounds ?

Does everyone get one ? I'm currently 37+2 and haven't had one since my 19 week , is this normal ? I also haven't been told what baby weighs and no clue as to her position ... I'm a ftm so don't really know what to expect , and I know I'm a little late but I have a ton of questions for my next appointment. Just curious as to everyone else's experience

Nope. Ftm here too :). I hadn't had one since I was 20w. Then the doctor ordered one because baby is measuring ahead, I may have another one next week as well. Typically though, 20w is the final one unless it's a high risk pregnancy or the doctor has orders for one for a specific reason :)

I'm 36.5 weeks and I ended up asking for one and have it this morning. I was curious about size and placement as well. I say ask your doctor! They might say yes and order one 👍🏼

It's normal to only have 1 ultrasound, unless there's cause for concern.

My last one was around 24 weeks but it was due to me measuring 5 weeks ahead and she wanted to check fluid levels and baby. Yesterday I went for my 36 week check up and they did like a 10 second ultrasound to see if he was head down then that was it. Lol

It's considered normal as most insurances will only pay for 2 unless it's medically necessary. 
The weight is all an estimate.

My office normally only does 2 ultra sounds, 8 and 20 weeks. With my first I got a few late ones because they couldn't tell her position from the cervix checks or feeling my belly. She was breech and never flipped.

My only ultrasound is at 20 weeks for the anatomy scan. If you're healthy there isn't a need. They are very inaccurate for weight estimations and your care provider can do belly mapping to see what position the child is in.

Just ask- say you'd like to know baby position etc and I'm sure they can do a little bedside ultrasound in your next appt

I had to ask for one. Just went to my 34 week appt and doc said that unless there is a reason they don't usually do them but she would do a quick one at the 36 week apt to check position.

I get 3rd trimester ultrasounds every 2 weeks due to high risk pregnancy.
