long distance tips

so, my boyfriend of a year and a half is moving to new york for college, and i have to wait 2 years to finish high school to live closer to him. he will be back for xmas and summer vacation. we have a very phenomenal relationship already with very open communication and deep respect for one another. any tips for keeping it that way?
